An odd little suburban skatepark sitting right alongside the 5 in North San Diego. I say odd as it looks like they either forgot to build half of the park, or they just ran out of funding part way through the construction. (update: in fact the skatepark used to feature a bunch of wooden minis and transitions that have since been removed… which explains why its felt so half done).
What the park has a wide bank of transitions and roll-ins of varying heights from 2-4.5ft. Some with coping, some just there for caving and big exits. There’s also a section with a couple of small hubba’s and rails, tho not much room to get onto them. The banks kind of form a very wide open three corner bowl, what’s disappointing is there is nothing else here. It lacks something either in middle flat area, or to fill out the far edge with some more transitions. Not a very inspiring setup at all.
The surface is smooth and fast, the transitions kind of small and tight and the coping mid sized and slightly warped in places.
The skatepark is part of a public recreational park with tennis courts and a large park area with lots of shade and seating check out their Facebook page here.
